The events thus far in 2020 have led us to re-examine our role and the way in which we can show up for our community. At Seven Springs we have been listening and learning. Watching as the divides in our country deepen, studying the roots of these chasms and working towards being a bridge for healing. We recognize that in order to move toward this goal we need to break our silence. Now is the time to speak clearly and act to foster the more peaceful and just world we wish to see.
As frustrated and sad as we are by the most recent evidence of systemic and structural racism, it is inspiring to see how widespread and focused the response has been. By speaking up and acting on our values we are making clear that we will not "move on" until the structures of racism have been replaced by a more inclusive system that promotes and values diversity and inclusivity. It is challenging to engage with all the voices that are speaking out on all sides of these issues. Yet we know that this is the only way forward, toward a more open-minded and open-hearted world with Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI).
Our goal is to make Yoga more accessible for the minds, spirits and bodies of all.
Even as we celebrate the ways in which we are able to show up for our community, we recognize that we have a long way to go to live up to our Vision of being:
"a place of natural abundance and cultural diversity where people learn how to foster wellness in themselves and their communities"
We recognize the importance of examining how Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) have been largely excluded from the wellness industry. As a retreat center we've been exploring how to become more accessible to everyone.
We are working to build a more inclusive environment that embodies our Mission:
"To provide an innovative and transformative space for local and global communities to experience high quality holistic education"
Consulting with coaches on Anti-Racism, Diversity & Inclusion
Making our space and services available to local Non-Profits
Reaching out to BIPOC retreat leaders, students, and guests with offers of collaboration, scholarships and invitations to host groups at Seven Springs.
In consideration of all that people are going through, and how powerfully healing this space can be, we want to again share our Sliding Scale option for our Private Wellness Retreats as well as some upcoming group retreats, such as our Yoga for Women's Health course in October.
Please consider Seven Springs as a place to rest, recover and continue to develop a collective vision for the world we're dreaming of. Take some time for your Self. A healthy and powerful You is what the world needs right now. Join us in a community where we take care of each other and make personal decisions based on the wellbeing of ourselves, our families, our wider communities and our planet.
We are committed to being more inclusive and accessible, so please reach out and ask for what you need.
