One Day Yoga & Nature Retreat in the Smoky Mountains

With Jessi Townesmith & Amberly Kelley-Dotson

Step away from the pace of everyday life and experience the benefits of a mini-retreat just a short drive from home.

The Reconnection Day Retreat offers an afternoon to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself through movement, nature, nourishment, and meaningful community. Together we will share simple practices that support balance, reflection, and renewal.

Through yoga, a nature walk, sound healing, and shared conversation, you’ll be invited to pause and listen—to your body, your breath, and the quiet wisdom that emerges when life slows down.

From this short but powerful time together, our hope is that you return home feeling refreshed, grounded, and inspired by the small but meaningful shifts that can create greater balance in your life.

An afternoon to nourish yourself through movement, breath, food, nature, art and connection!

  • Jessi was born and raised on the land of Seven Springs. She completed her first YTT200 in 2007 and her YTT300 in 2012. She co-founded Kula Collective Yoga School and Seven Springs in 2015. Jessi has always loved to combine elements of dance and natural movement with traditional yogic sequencing. She incorporates attention to rhythm of the breath, and allows for organic movement to flow in each pose. She is passionate about anatomy and physiology and especially women's health.

Her first son was born in 2018, and since that time, Jessi has dedicated herself to learning more about birth and birth keeping, as well as focused on creating support circles for women. She has trained as a Birth Doula and Post-partum Doula, and she is passionate about Pre and Post Natal Yoga.

Most of all, Jessi believes yoga is a holistic practice that can benefit every woman, and while the asana practice may have brought her into the yoga path, Jessi now enjoys exploring the subtler aspects of the yoga journey through ceremony and circle.

  • Amberly has been teaching yoga since 2016 and continues to deepen her practice through ongoing study in areas that support healing, resilience, and connection. In 2022, she completed 500 hours of in-depth training through the American Viniyoga Institute’s Foundations Program for Teaching and Yoga Therapy. In the summer of 2025, she completed two years of study in a rigorous 890-hour Ayurvedic Health Counselor program with Joyful Belly’s College of Ayurveda.

At the heart of Amberly’s work is a deep respect for the uniqueness of each individual. She specializes in one-on-one sessions designed to meet clients exactly where they are, blending the wisdom of Ayurveda for whole-body well-being with breath-centered yoga to support nervous system resilience and a deeper connection to self. Her approach emphasizes function over form, guiding students as they explore what healing and wholeness mean for them, whether that involves relieving discomfort, calming the mind, rekindling energy, or reconnecting with a deeper sense of self.

In addition to working with private clients, Amberly guides seasonal group Ayurvedic resets, specialized workshops, class series, event speaking, and retreats on topics such as managing anxiety, reducing ADHD symptoms, supporting digestion, balancing hormones, and more. She also and offers continuing education and one-on-one mentorship for yoga teachers interested in therapeutic approaches and the deeper dimensions of yoga beyond pre-scripted asana. With a background in psychology and recreation therapy, Amberly brings a creative, compassionate lens to her work, often weaving together guided breath, visualization, journaling, and meaningful conversation to help people navigate stuck places and reconnect with their own inner wisdom.
