Held outdoors at Seven Springs on 126 acres of trails and springs, 20 minutes from downtown Maryville
The Seven Spring’s nature day camp was inspired by our little ones to provide them the learning experiences they deserve. Our learning community is kid centered, allowing the young ones to take responsibility for their learning. We provide a safe and encouraging container of gently guided activities, promoting creative free play arranged around weekly themes prompting exploration of themselves, each other and nature. We believe this nourishing family environment can support behavioral, social and emotional growth. We maintain small groups of 5-10 kids in each age group with 1-2 teachers.

Session 1 Weekly Schedule:
Week 1
Our first week of exploring the senses is focused on SIGHT. We will explore our depth and expansiveness of vision, diving into the micro and the macro of what we see in nature.

Week 2
Our second week of exploring the senses is focused on SOUND. We will have fun with the infinite sounds and music of nature.

Week 3
Our third week of exploring the senses is focused on SMELL. We'll smell all things around us, as well as experience calming and stimulating scents of herbs and flowers.

Week 4
Our fourth week of exploring the senses is focused on TASTE. From the taste of fresh spring water, to the taste of our favorite herbs, we will explore the natural sensations through our taste buds.

Week 5
Our fifth week of exploring the senses is focused on TOUCH. Diving into how we experience nature through touch, we will explore all different tactile experiences, such as with bark, soft leaves, dirt and of course, mud!

Week 6
Our sixth week of exploring the senses is focused on FEELING. From explore our external sense of touch, we will turn to experience this sense from our feelings on the inside.
Session 2 Weekly Schedule:
Week 1
The first week’s color is RED. Our children will explore through the Earth element by gardening and nature inspired freeplay. This week is also about sharing where we come from; our family members, our roots and how to give back to the ancestors and Mother Earth!

Week 2
ORANGE is our themed color for week two. In this time our children will use their imagination to creatively play, group problem solve and express emotions in safe and fun ways. Allowing the Water element to guide many of the weeks activities.

Week 3
For week three our color is YELLOW. This week is about shining bright in who we are! To be like the Sun and learn how to bring light into the world. Our children will have opportunities to practice confidence through show and tell, dancing, singing and playing instruments together.

Week 4
GREEN is our fourth color. Week four is all about love! How can we express love? How do we learn about self love? Is unconditional love in the air? Let the wind carry our love out into the places into the world that need it most!

Week 5
The fifth color is BLUE. This week is inspired by using our voices! Encouraging our children to use their words, to creatively express themselves and play in the art of chanting, singing and toning. While also understanding that listening is just as important as speaking up!

Week 6
PURPLE is week six’s color! To use our imagination, to think outside of the box and try things in new ways! Encouraging our children to explore who they are and what they want to maybe grow up to be one day!

Week 7
Our seventh week is represented by BLACK & WHITE. Here our children will play with balance, learn about opposites and experience with our center of our beings!

Week 8
RAINBOW is our last themed color/s of the week! Our littles will use their senses to explore and make sense of the world around them by touching, tasting, smelling, seeing, moving and hearing. This final week is filled with teamwork and doing things together!

Week 9
Our final week will bring attention to REFLECTIONS. We will explore the reflections within each on of us, as well as our reflection with and through our natural world.

Tosha Kemper is our lead teacher and program designer. She was born and raised in Southern California and now, for the last three years, she has had the great privilege and honor to teach yoga in several different places around the world. She is a 500hr Yoga Practitioner and really enjoys guiding children through movement while playing. She also has a background in ABA - behavioral therapy with children. ABA therapy (applied behavioral analysis) gifted her an insight to the development of behavior, the wonders of functional communication, and to the pure magic that each individual is. For almost four years she performed one to one therapy for autistic clients, trained others to do so and managed the team and clients. And for over ten years Tosha was a part of the E.S.C.A.P.E. Theater, a children’s musical theatre group! She led Seven Springs Nature Day Camp in 2022 and returns for 2023. The Day Camp has become a wonderful creation to combine and incorporate all of these unique backgrounds into one.

Emma Kettler was born and raised in Miami Florida and has provided child care all over the world. Emma has made it her life’s mission to support children in maintaining their wild imaginations! As a child, Emma attended an outdoor sleep away camp for 10 years before eventually becoming a counselor.  Her love of camp has given her the inspiration to create spaces for kids to harmonize with one another, connect to nature’s wonders, sing and dance. She spent the summer of 2022 at Seven Springs, co-creating Nature Day Camp to be the living, breathing, magic that it is. Since then, Emma spent time in Guatemala and led another holistic day camp for children ages 3-6. She worked as an au pair in Guatemala and also currently in Miami. Seven Springs is one of Emma’s favorite corner’s of the globe and she is thrilled for another summer of love!
