We are bringing together a diverse group of leaders to offer amazing learning-based workshops for the whole family. Our featured workshops are: BrainDance The BrainDance was created by Anne Green Gilbert, world renown dance pedagogist, in 2000. It is used world-wide and is for all ages and ability levels. BrainDance is based on the primitive and postural movements of the womb and in the 1st year of life. These movements are the foundation for sensory-motor development and life-long learning. BrainDance is a form of creative movement taught conceptually through the scientifically based Learning Cycle. Guest teaching artist Maria Simeone (bio below), was awarded her professional certification in brain compatible dance in 2009, trained by her mentor Anne Green Gilbert. Maria has since led award winning workshops world-wide in the BrainDance.
HealthRhythms Drum Circle Since the time of ancient civilization, drumming circles have created a sense of community and belonging. The HealthRhythms Drum circle builds on this ancient tradition while interweaving a scientifically based wellness strategy that improves the immune system, mood regulation, and social-emotional learning. It is a family empowerment drumming experience that builds and fosters socialization, connection, camaraderie, respect, communication and personal expression. It provides an extraordinary opportunity to discover your personal rhythm while enhancing family bonding. Drums are provided (though you’re welcome to bring your own) and is for all ages. No prior drum experience needed. Maria was trained in 2013 by the creators of HealthRhythms, Christine Stevens, MT-BC and Barry Bittman, MD. HealthRHythms is a Remo, Inc. protocol. Maria is a Remo team member for community and recreational drumming.

She has trained as a Birth Doula and Post-partum Doula, and she is passionate about Pre and Post Natal Yoga. Most of all, Jessi believes yoga is a holistic practice that can benefit every person, and while the asana practice may have brought her into the yoga path, Jessi now enjoys exploring the subtler aspects of the yoga journey through ceremony and circle.
