Join seasoned instructors Kelly Nichols Scott and Jessi Townesmith at the lush, healing grounds of Seven Springs Retreat Center for this journey of exploration. Through gentle rocking, acupressure, and mindful body-momentum, you’ll discover hands-on Thai Yoga techniques rooted in the principles of Osteothai, deepening your awareness of fascia, breath, and energetic flow.

Whether you’re an experienced yogi or a curious mover drawn to somatic exploration, this retreat offers a space to expand mobility, deepen connection, and awaken new potentials in your practice and in your body.

Through guided movement explorations, clear anatomical understanding, and experiential hands-on workshops, this Thai Yoga training teaches you how to support students with confidence, sensitivity, and a therapeutic mindset. You’ll learn to offer touch that is informed, intuitive, and safe—rooted in Thai stretching, Osteothai principles, and functional movement awareness.

This course honors the diversity of bodies and experiences, giving you practical tools to create inclusive, empowering, and holistic support for students in both group classes and one-on-one settings.

Hands-on support from a skilled yoga teacher can transform the way students understand and experience their bodies. When thoughtful compression, decompression, and touch are paired with asana, they help unlock greater mobility, enhance postural awareness, and create a deeper connection to the practice.

In this training, you’ll explore a blend of active, passive, and dynamic Thai stretching techniques grounded in the principles of Osteothai. These methods are designed to increase proprioception, expand functional range of motion, and cultivate an overall sense of vitality and ease in the body.

By the end of the course, you will feel confident offering a wide range of supportive, intuitive hands-on techniques—empowering you to create safe, effective, and personalized experiences for students in group classes or one-on-one sessions.

Jessi Townesmith

Jessi was born and raised on the land of Seven Springs. She completed her first YTT200 in 2007 and her YTT300 in 2012. She co-founded Kula Collective International Yoga School and Seven Springs Retreat Center in 2015. Since then, Jessi has taught over 50 Yoga Teacher Trainings to hundreds of students all over the world.

Jessi has always loved to combine elements of dance and natural movement with traditional yogic sequencing. She incorporates attention to rhythm of the breath, and allows for organic movement to flow in each pose. She is passionate about anatomy and physiology and especially women's health. Her first son was born in 2018, and since that time, Jessi has dedicated herself to learning more about birth and birth keeping, as well as focused on creating support circles for women. She has trained as a Birth Doula and Post-partum Doula, and she is passionate about Pre and Post Natal Yoga.

Most of all, Jessi believes yoga is a holistic practice that can benefit every person, and while the asana practice may have brought her into the yoga path, Jessi now enjoys exploring the subtler aspects of the yoga journey through ceremony and circle.
