Walking the path:
Labyrinth & Nature Immersion Retreat
September 10-13, 2026
With Mary Long & Jessi Townesmith

Step out of the noise of everyday life and into the quiet wisdom of the forest. This 4-day immersive retreat invites you to slow down, reflect, and reconnect through the ancient practice of labyrinth walking, guided nature experiences, gentle movement, and inclusive community.

At Seven Springs, we’ll use the land itself as our teacher — winding trails, hidden springs, forest hollows, and wide-open ridgelines become living metaphors for your own life journey. Through guided labyrinth journeys, forest bathing, journaling, and creative expression, you’ll explore where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re being invited to go next.

This retreat is for anyone feeling called to pause, reset, and listen more deeply to themselves and to nature.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Guided labyrinth journeys and teachings on the history and cultural uses of labyrinths
  • Forest bathing and mindful nature immersion
  • Gentle morning yoga or movement (optional)
  • Guided hikes to scenic overlooks and hidden springs
  • Journaling and self-reflection with provided journals and prompts
  • Creative workshop: designing and painting your own handheld ceramic labyrinth to take home
  • Evening campfires, luminaria labyrinth walks, and sunset self reflections
  • Nourishing farm-to-table meals
  • Unstructured time to immerse oneself in self-reflection as part of nature.

No prior experience with yoga, meditation, or labyrinths is needed; just a willingness to be present and curious.

What Is a Labyrinth?

A labyrinth is a single, winding path that leads you to the center and back out again, designed for slow, mindful walking. Unlike a maze, there are no wrong turns; just one continuous path that mirrors the twists and turns of life. Walking a labyrinth is a moving meditation that supports reflection, stress relief, and insight, inviting you to release what no longer serves you and reconnect with your inner wisdom, higher self, and belief system.

What Is Forest Bathing?

Forest bathing, or Shinrin-yoku, is the practice of immersing yourself in nature using all of your senses. Literally translated as "breathing in the atmosphere of the forest', it differs from hiking for exercise, and instead beckons you to slow down and entwine in the rhythms of nature. Research shows this practice can improve physical and emotional health and deepen your sense of connection to yourself through the natural world.

What our past retreat participants are saying...
“This was an amazing experience - getting in tune with nature and myself- it was what I needed to let me find myself. I met the most amazing people (friends). This was the 1st time I had done meditation, something I will continue to do. The yoga was amazing and also new to me. I feel so light. I look forward to going back each year to unplug and recharge. Thank you Jessi and Mary! ”

Jessi Townesmith
Jessi was born and raised on the land of Seven Springs. She completed her first YTT200 in 2007 and her YTT300 in 2012. She co-founded Kula Collective Yoga School and Seven Springs in 2015. Jessi has always loved to combine elements of dance and natural movement with traditional yogic sequencing. She incorporates attention to rhythm of the breath, and allows for organic movement to flow in each pose. She is passionate about anatomy and physiology and especially women's health. Her first son was born in 2018, and since that time, Jessi has dedicated herself to learning more about birth and birth keeping, as well as focused on creating support circles for women. She has trained as a Birth Doula and Post-partum Doula, and she is passionate about Pre and Post Natal Yoga. Most of all, Jessi believes yoga is a holistic practice that can benefit every woman, and while the asana practice may have brought her into the yoga path, Jessi now enjoys exploring the subtler aspects of the yoga journey through ceremony and circle.
